FAQ

What is zBridge?

A Devnet proof of concept that locks Solana SPL tokens and issues matching OrchardZSA lots on the public ZSA testnet. Notes go to your Unified Address so you can send or burn them.

Why does minting take about a minute?

The cranker proves a real Halo2 OrchardZSA issuance, then a shielded delivery to your address. That prove time is the wait. The chain itself is hot-synced from this host so you are not waiting on a cold Cachet rescan.

Is this permissionless?

Not yet. Explorers show BindMint / ReleaseSpl with Groth16-sized proofs, but the circuit is not installed. While the verifying key is zero, only the treasury / operator can land those instructions. The Zcash side is real; Solana verification is still authority-attested.

Do I need a Zcash wallet first?

Yes, if you want to hold the notes. Use ZSA wallet in the header to generate or import a 24-word seed. Nothing is created until you click. This browser keeps only one seed.

Who can redeem a burn?

Whoever holds the notes. You burn from the page wallet, then your Solana wallet signs the redeem destination. The cranker only calls release_spl after that burn. If the dest has never held the mint, you open its token account (and pay the rent) first.

What is ZPLU?

The utility token. Lock prepays a mint fee and a redeem bounty. Each pot is split 50% burn, 25% treasury, 25% cranker. Claim 5,000 ZPLU once per wallet per day on the Faucet tab.
